Hey lovers! How goes it on this hump day? Today has been especially busy and I can't wait to get to curl up with my book and read!
Bourbon Kingsby J.R. Ward the author of the blockbuster Blackdagger Brotherhood Series. The story is a departure from her normal (at least what I know of her) writing. The Blackdagger Brotherhood are a group of Vampire warriors who are charged with protecting their race. They are vicious killers with big soft hearts and it's a great read. The Bourbon Kings so far is more like Dallas meets Kentucky. This family has got so many secrets I am actually scared for them to be revealed because I can tell they are going to be apocaplyptic.
This is Tulane's "Lane" and Lizzie's story. He's the prodigal son to the of the most prestigious family in the state and he is home after being away for two years. It's very soap opera-y. Lots of drama, lots of manipulation and lots of REVENGE...OMG, it's delicious. I am not even sure how I feel about the characters, but I love the story and I am finding that when a story is this entertaining, I don't need to fall for the characters. Some stuff is really just a guilty pleasure, and
this definitely feels like that. I'll post my review...so far, so juicy, though!
I just bought the much anticipated novel by Colleen Hoover,November 9. It was released on November 10th, so I am not sure if that is supposed to mean something or... But, the reviews are off the charts. People are raving and honestly guys, she one of those writers who literally punches you in the guts, hangs you out to dry and then gets you all nice and healed by the end...so, I am excited and nervous, because I am not sure if I am ready for all of the heart pounding and groaning and "holy shit" screams that I am compelled to release when I read her work. I'll post my review ASAP!
I've also started a new release by Samantha Towle titled When I Was Yours. It's my first time reading her work, but she comes highly recommended. Please don't ask me how I can read more than one book at a time...just believe that the combination of my short attention span, the fact I am going to need to probably take a step away from November 9 when it get's to be too much, will make it so I ge through this book really quickly. Also, I just couldn't wait to read it. I pre-ordered it week ago and I've been waiting for it like the lady in the Black Friday Target commercial that is standing at the door of the store saying "open, open, open" over and over again. Anyway, back to the book, it's good so far. OMG- the angst is off the charts. It's not meant to be a deep read (at least I hope it's not) but I can tell it's going to involve a lot of misunderstanding and heart ache before the HEA finally arrives.
